Funerals                            Wedding blessings                             Baby blessings                             Other services

A ceremony is a sacred formal event marking a change, or a moment of significance, often witnessed by family and friends.

I'm an Independent Celebrant which means I can create bespoke, meaningful, heartfelt ceremonies, just for you.

I'm passionate about building authentic ceremonies - whether that’s celebrating the passing of a life well-lived, welcoming a brand new member to your family, witnessing your union through a Wedding Blessing or renewing vows to celebrate your years together.

Whatever your special occasion, I’d love to work with you to make it everything you wish it to be. Have a look through my website - more importantly, feel free to get in touch without any obligation.

I'm based in Dalry, North Ayrshire and I'm happy to travel.

FUNERALS

A funeral service can be a celebration of life, a very traditional ceremony, or a little bit of both.

I'll work with you to create a perfect tribute to the life of your family member or friend. I can create a personalised eulogy (life story) and support you to ensure your loved one is given the perfect ceremony.

As an Independent Celebrant I can tailor a funeral service to recognise and respect the  beliefs and faith of the deceased.

The ceremony can be religious, semi-religious or without any reference to faith.

CELEBRATION
OF LIFE

This service can be conducted in addition to a private cremation or burial.

It allows friends and family members to join together to pay their respects in an uplifting ceremony.

I will work with you to create a perfect tribute to the life of your family member or friend.

A celebration of life can include music, family and friend tributes, toasts, alongside readings and eulogy.

Interment
of Ashes

Interment of ashes can be arranged to follow a cremation service . . . when the time is right for you.

For some families this is weeks following the funeral; for others, this is years later.

This is a short ceremony allowing the ashes to be placed lovingly into their final resting place or scattered as per the deceased’s wishes.

Covid-19 restrictions caused disruption to many funerals. If you were unable to have the service you wished for, I can tailor the interment service to include elements of the funeral.

WEDDING
BLESSING

I Do . . . I Do . . . I Do . . . I Do . . . I Do . . .  I Do!

Would you like to celebrate your wedding, elopement, civil ceremony or civil partnership with a wedding blessing conducted in front of family and friends?

I will design a beautiful ceremony with you, inclusive of your wishes. This can include ceremonial elements such as quaich toasts, sand ceremony, wish jars, Celtic hand fasting (tying the knot!), tree planting and much more . . .

Get in touch and let’s chat about all the possibilities.

VOW RENEWAL

A vow renewal is a wonderful celebration of your married life together, whether it represents one, five, 25 or 50 years! Whatever feels right for you.

If you choose to celebrate in this way, I will help you build a beautiful, meaningful ceremony allowing you to recreate your vows or make them relevant to you now.

A friend spoke to me about not feeling involved in her own wedding (she just turned up and sang the hymns chosen and repeated the words given). Along with her husband, she decided to make her Silver Anniversary doubly significant by tailoring their renewed vows to recognise specifically what their marriage and commitments meant to them and all that they are grateful for.

Other friends of mine wished to recognise the significance that illness had played in their relationship, and celebrate it fully. Whatever the reason for a vow renewal, I’d be delighted to help.

I’d love to design your special ceremony with you. Please contact me and we can chat about how I can help

BABY BLESSING

A baby blessing is a beautiful occasion as it helps fulfil the spiritual needs of parents who are of different faiths, do not belong to a church, or do not practice a religion.

If you would like a bespoke ceremony, respectful of your beliefs and wishes, that resonates with other key participants, eg. the Godparents and invited guests, then I would love to help.

I will work with you to create an occasion celebrating the birth of your child, as you present them to their family and make your commitments to your child.

The ceremony can include sacred elements such as prayer, vows, anointment, sand ceremony, petal blessings, candles and wish jars. It's entirely up to you.

BABY NAMING

The naming of a child is a special event, worthy of ceremony and recognition. The purpose is to recognise and celebrate your child and welcome him or her into your family and circle of friends.

Your child is at the heart of the ceremony with special recognition given to the supporting adults: grandparents, guiding parents or Godparents in their role in mentoring and helping to raise your child.

A naming ceremony is performed as a non-religious alternative to ceremonies such as Christening. A naming ceremony does not admit the child to a faith as in a baptism, and parents may use this to allow the child to choose their own faith path when they are older.

Naming ceremonies are suitable for babies, toddlers, older children, adopted children and stepchildren.

If you would like a bespoke ceremony, respectful of your beliefs and wishes, that resonates with the other key participants, then I would love to help.

I will work with you to create an occasion celebrating the naming of your child as you present them to their family.  The ceremony can include sacred rituals such as vows, sand ceremony, candles, wish jars and others.

ADOPTION
CEREMONY

The receiving of a child is a special event, worthy of ceremony and recognition.

The purpose is to recognise and celebrate your child, welcoming him or her into your family and circle of friends.

An adoption is a gift to be celebrated.  Your child is at the heart of the ceremony with special recognition given to the supporting adults: grandparents, guiding parents or Godparents in their role in mentoring and helping to raise your child.

If you would like a bespoke ceremony to celebrate the adoption of your child, respectful of your beliefs and wishes, then I would love to help.

I will work with you to create a ceremony celebrating the adoption of your child as you welcome them into their family.

The ceremony can include sacred rituals such as vows, sand ceremony, candles, wish jars and others.

Have you something new within your community that you wish to recognise through ceremony? For example, the dedication of a new building or the renewal of an area?

As a celebrant, I can design and deliver your ceremony to mark the occasion.

Please get in touch to discuss.
