BABY BLESSING
A baby blessing is a beautiful occasion as it helps fulfil the spiritual needs of parents who are of different faiths, do not belong to a church, or do not practice a religion.
If you would like a bespoke ceremony, respectful of your beliefs and wishes, that resonates with other key participants, eg. the Godparents and invited guests, then I would love to help.
I will work with you to create an occasion celebrating the birth of your child, as you present them to their family and make your commitments to your child.
The ceremony can include sacred elements such as prayer, vows, anointment, sand ceremony, petal blessings, candles and wish jars. It's entirely up to you.
BABY NAMING
The naming of a child is a special event, worthy of ceremony and recognition. The purpose is to recognise and celebrate your child and welcome him or her into your family and circle of friends.
Your child is at the heart of the ceremony with special recognition given to the supporting adults: grandparents, guiding parents or Godparents in their role in mentoring and helping to raise your child.
A naming ceremony is performed as a non-religious alternative to ceremonies such as Christening. A naming ceremony does not admit the child to a faith as in a baptism, and parents may use this to allow the child to choose their own faith path when they are older.
Naming ceremonies are suitable for babies, toddlers, older children, adopted children and stepchildren.
